At Videocall, we use our own video-solutions extensively throughout the whole organisation – in Sales, Support, Logistics, Finance, Marketing, HR, at board level and it’s the way we most regularly meet with our customers.

Using these solutions internally and externally we are able to reduce the impact of conducting our own business on the environment and we also like to believe this helps to improve the work/life balance of our staff, partners, suppliers and customers.

By its very nature, our core business can help companies to address legal directives as well as their own environmental challenges.  In addition to the business benefits – improving individual and thereby business performance, speeding up decision making and better collaboration both within and beyond the organisational boundaries – video-enabled solutions also contribute some personal and environmental benefits.

Working from home, individuals can still meet and collaborate via video-enabled technology thereby reducing the number of times they need to drive into the office.  This, for example, can help to reduce CO2 levels and to improve the quality of life and job satisfaction.  After all, who wants to travel during peak times in order to be available in the office every day?

In addition, as part of the EU Environmental Directives, we also aim to reduce the impact of the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment once it reaches its “end of life” by collecting and recycling our customers’ equipment.

Using the market to trade
“The market is a powerful tool when used to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the lowest cost to society.  It allows companies to direct their investments in emission reduction to the places where they will do the most good, both in the developed and developing worlds.”

You can find out more about market mechanisms and emissions trading from the “International Emissions Trading Association” at www.ieta.org
