A lot of companies have recently adopted Zoom as a quick and easy collaboration platform to support remote workers and hybrid working. But a significant proportion of these are Office 365 users, and either use on-premise meeting spaces designed for Microsoft Teams (MTRs), or are planning to migrate to Teams when the pandemic restrictions subside and it’s safe to return to the office.
Zoom and Teams each boast different features and strengths as well as some drawbacks, but they share a common issue for users, namely a lack of interoperability with standards-based endpoints without adding additional services such as CVI and Room Connector.

Back in March, many organisations planned to adopt Microsoft Teams as their primary video communication platform found themselves either ‘stuck’ with their existing platform, were unable to update their meeting spaces or were forced to rapidly deploy a ‘make-do’ solution such as Zoom to support remote workers.

Migrating from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams is surely a criterion for success currently sitting within many enterprise IT, collaboration and other departments that look after meetings.
