Skype VTC Interoperability powered by ICE – One Single Partner

In part two of our blog series on Videocall’s Skype for Business Online interoperability service we will be discussing how using Videocall as the partner would simplify any technical issues should that arise.

This series is looking at the Skype VTC Interoperability service that Videocall offer, which allows Skype for Business Online users to hold collaboration and ideation meetings with other participants connecting from traditional rooms systems, or other video enabled H.323 or SIP devices.

Before you purchase an interoperability service, think about who looks after each section component of the overall service – Skype for Business, endpoints, licensing and the actual service. What would happen should something stop working?

If you bought Polycom’s RealConnect for O365 or similar applications to run your Skype Interoperability, you would have three separate contact points to get the technology back up and running. Microsoft should it be a Skype for Business problem. Polycom, should it be something to do with the Polycom endpoints (what if you have Cisco endpoints? Polycom cannot help you there). Or the service partner that sold you the licenses in the first place. Who looks after the cloud service? So many different people to contact.
