Why Clarks moved to ICE cloud-based video conferencing.
Simmons & Simmons is an international law firm with 21 offices across Europe, Middle East and Asia and over 2,000 staff, including over 250 partners and a turnover of nearly £300m. Their key sectors include asset management and investment funds, financial institutions, life sciences and technology media and telecommunications.
Simmons & Simmons has been using video conferencing for a number of years. Their collaboration estate consisted of older Polycom and Tandberg systems that were no longer adequate for the growing demands of the business. They were deemed to have below standard audio and video and were hard to use and set-up for the partners. The video conferencing estate was also being managed by various suppliers, each with their own SLA.
As a leading law firm working on international projects across multiple time zones, Simmons & Simmons knew that both the equipment and the overall collaboration service would need to be updated to meet with the ever-increasing demands from both partners and clients.
Simmons & Simmons was also looking to deploy Microsoft Skype for Business as a collaboration tool across the business, opening up the option for desktop and mobile collaboration.
Simmons & Simmons chose to have Videocall’s ICE (Intelligent Cloud Experience) Video-as-a-Service platform, connecting Skype for Business with the endpoints in the meeting rooms, and to create a single easy to use workflow for the partners to access and arrive in meetings. ICE was rolled out as a global cloud service, supporting all employees of Simmons & Simmons wherever their location.
Videocall have taken over the management of the entire international A/V deployment, allowing Simmons & Simmons to have a single point of contact and one SLA. Simmons & Simmons has also started to upgrade the old room endpoints so that the full benefits of Videocall’s ICE cloud service can be realised. ICE provides a high quality, reliable, secure and easy to use video conferencing service, catering specifically for enterprise businesses, delivering the same experience globally.
Importantly meetings can be scheduled using familiar workflows including Microsoft Outlook, meaning that training is minimal throughout the company, and adoption rates grow quickly.
Videocall designed a solution for Simmons & Simmons that included the following:
Simmons & Simmons now has a global unified collaboration service that is fit for purpose for all meetings, from critical partner meetings, to client briefs and everything in between. The service connects their older room-based technology extending its life, to new meeting room technology, and to their Microsoft Skype for Business on-premises deployment.
It is a global service that delivers the same high level of audio, video and content, reliability, security and workflows, wherever the users are located.
With Videocall on board, Simmons & Simmons can be safe in the knowledge that they are working with experts within the unified collaboration and video conferencing industry. Videocall will be there to support Simmons & Simmons going forward, and to ensure that their collaboration service remains fit for purpose and evolves in line with user demand.
Initial reaction to the new service from users has been very positive; improvements in quality and reliability, along with the ability to connect from both meeting rooms and Skype for Business into the same video conferencing meeting from anywhere in the globe have been very well received.
“Simmons & Simmons has been a heavy user of collaboration technology for several years, however the demand and need for improved ease of use and quality meant that the service needed to be evolved.”
“Videocall were the obvious choice of company for the firm to work with. Their knowledge of unified collaboration and video conferencing is second to none, and that really comes across from the first conversation all the way through to the ongoing support.”
“Videocall’s ICE Video-as-a-Service platform, was the choice that fitted our requirements and worked with the Microsoft applications we use; Skype for Business and Outlook. With their single global ITIL 24/7/365 SLA, we know that the service will be delivered and supported around the world.”
“The users are very excited to have the high quality, secure, reliable service that an international firm and its clients demand.”
